Randy "Tarkas" Hoar 1014 North Scheuber Road Centralia, WA 98531 (360) 807-1928 I have been a professional illustrator for 16 years. I started doing science fiction/fantasy/horror illustrations for fan (amateur) magazines, which led to my first professional publication in ROD SERLING'S TWILIGHT ZONE MAGAZINE. This was a major event for me as the magazine published some of my favorite writers, including Ramsey Campbell and Stephen King. I was determined to become a major science fiction illustrator, but I learned to be versatile and began working for such markets as SESAME STREET MAGAZINE, greeting card companies, computer magazines, and video game firms. I have also created murals, dinosaur posters, magnets, buttons, events posters, pet portraits, and designed stuffed toys. Except for a few occasions I have been given free rein to produce art for my commissions. Almost all of my artwork has been for publication. I use an airbrush for most of my color work, but I have also done a large quantity of pen and ink art. I am presently doing artwork for GALACTIC EMPIRES, a science fictiontrading card game, and am also working on a dinosaur poster.
